WOLFSBURG EYE GIROUD MOVE
Wolfsburg are reportedly looking to tempt Olivier Giroud away from Arsenal with an extremely lucrative contract offer.
According to several of the morning papers, the German side are keen to rescue the Frenchman from his Gunners ‘nightmare’, with the Frenchman, 29, without a goal in the Premier League since January. He has come under fire from Arsenal fans who want him replaced with a “world class” striker.
Giroud’s drought is the worst of his career and has coincided with Arsenal’s failures in both the title race and Europe. Wolfsburg, 10th in the Bundesliga, are looking for more firepower this summer after a disappointing campaign.
Wolfsburg have just got rid of one Arsenal striker who was never fit for purpose in Nicklas Bendtner, so what are th… no, we can’t quite do it.

UNITED WANT TWO MASSIVE STRIKER NAMES, OBVIOUSLY
Awkward timing here, with both the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail touting expensive strikers with a move to Manchester United on exactly the same day. They surely can’t both be right?
The Daily Mirror reckon that Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain. Apparently ‘United boss Louis van Gaal had him watched in Serie A action against Roma last week. Higuain, 28, fits the bill for United who want to add to their squad a proven striker with top-level international experience’.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say that United have actually moved closer to signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a fee of £70m. ‘Meetings last week have established Aubameyang as the No 1 target for the summer and United are confident they can sign the striker as long as Real Madrid don’t make a bid’, apparently. Poor Higuain.
