Ancelotti: I'm very happy for Zidane because he deserves it

Although he lost his own job at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti feels nothing but happiness for his former assistant Zinedine Zidane, as the Frenchman continues to impress in the first-team coaching role.
Currently on a 28-game unbeaten run, Zidane is targeting the all-time mark of 34 games unbeaten, currently held by the Quinta del Buitre side of 1988/89.
"Zidane is my friend, he was my player, my assistant, he is doing very well at Real Madrid and I am very happy for him because he deserves it," Ancelotti said on the Canal Football Club programme broadcast on Canal + in France.
The Italian won, among other titles, the tenth Champions League for Real, whilst the Frenchman would go on to claim the eleventh in Milan.
Ancelotti also weighed into the Karim Benzema debate and suggested that Didier Deschamps is wrong to keep the striker out of the French national side.
"I'm sad about it," he said. "Karim deserves to play for the French team, the French team has not won the European Championship, and I think with Karim it could have been different."
Questioned whether he could coach Olympique Marseille in the future, the Italian was blunt and to the point.
"No, Because I can not go against my history," he continued.
"My story in France was Paris Saint Germain and my story in Italy was Milan.
"I have a great respect for Inter and for Olympique Marseille but, for example, I can't go back to Spain and coach Atletico Madrid because I led Real."
